To ensure that you arrive prepared and know what to expect, we compiled a breakdown of what the admissions process is like, what to expect during your stay in treatment,  and the tools provided to you upon and after discharging from our program.

Admissions Process:

  • Typically the call will begin with the admissions coordinator learning more about your situation by asking some basic questions about substance abuse and/or mental health history.
  • Finances are a concern for most clients; we will ask for insurance information to run your benefits and explain if there are any patient responsibilities.
  • A short phone assessment is completed with the client. Our goal is to make sure your needs can be met by our staff, and if we are not a good fit, we will work with you to find a place that will better suit your needs.
  • Once you are qualified to come to Transformations Mending Fences, we schedule your admission. We will schedule your arrival date and time-based on availability. The majority of our clients come from out of state and we transport clients from the following airports: Orlando, Tampa, or Gainesville.

During Your Stay:

  • Length of stay depends on each individual’s treatment plan. We offer 30-90 day treatment programs.
  • Upon arrival, you will fill out intake paperwork and make a safe call to your emergency contact. After a 3-day blackout, you will be allowed 15-minute phone calls every evening after group hours.
  • You will meet with our psychiatrist within your first 24 hours, from there we will build a treatment plan tailored to your needs. This includes medication management, different psycho-therapies, and a dedicated individual therapist.
  • Medical staff is on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Medications will be administered during morning and evening hours.
  • You will meet with your individual therapist 2 times a week for one-hour sessions. Outside of your individual sessions, clinical groups run from 9am-3pm, 7 days a week.
  • In the evening hours, you will get time to relax, got to the gym, or attend a 12-step meeting and on the weekends there are outings and activities.
  • There is a cafeteria on site where chef-prepared meals will be served 3 times a day. Snacks and drinks will be available throughout the day.

After Completing Treatment:

  • Your case manager will sit with you about a week before discharge and set up and aftercare plan along with providing local recovery resources to you.
  • You may return home and continue seeking treatment at a local therapist’s office to maintain medication management or you may step down to a lower level of care at a receiving facility to continue inpatient or outpatient treatment to further your recovery.
  • Our dedicated Alumni Department will reach out to you within 72 hours of discharge to make sure you are transitioning smoothly.  They will provide online resources and provide you with future alumni meetings and events to encourage long-lasting recovery.
