The Help for Our Heroes Program was developed BY veterans and first responders FOR veterans and first responders. When it comes to the Help For Our Heroes Program, the majority of the case managers, group facilitators, and therapists are either veterans or first responders themselves who truly understand what this population has been through.
Our primary focus is to help veterans and first responders who experience traumas including PTSD, combat trauma, grief and loss, and MST (military sexual trauma). Our licensed clinicians help individuals work through the traumatic events that continue to create obstacles which impede their progress toward long-term stability. Clients will begin to learn and develop healthy coping skills and address their trauma in a safe space.
Our clients are able to participate in a number of engaging activities such as grief group, Rucksack and virtual runs, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), yoga, meditation, and breath work. These types of activities can help improve mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood. We also have an on-site gym as well as a labyrinth for clients to utilize throughout their stay.
The facility is located on a retreat of 400 acres away from the stresses and chaos of everyday life, providing an opportunity for healing, reflection and support. Clients come to the program to address issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, substance use or abuse, process addiction, trauma, grief and loss and other behavioral health concerns. Clients are provided with a daily structured schedule that includes one on one time with trained clinical therapists, group therapy, experiential work and creative expressive activities that support overall healing and growth.
